How to write Show, don't Tell scenes - Persuasive writing
TELL: Mum/Dad, I'm a year older now and I need a rise in my pocket money.
SHOW: Mum/Dad, I'm a year older now. I pay for my own clothes, like the jeans I bought last week. I'm heading out with friends a lot more, they all want to buy lunch and drinks and food, I can't ask my friends to pay for me. We want to go see movies, there's the Kings of Leon concert coming up soon, and you know I play basketball twice a week. I can't keep asking you for money every day. If you give me a reasonable amount for an allowance, I can learn to budget and pay my own way.
