I really enjoyed the PD – Deb was very engaging and motivational. I can’t wait to use the Seven Steps in the classroom!

With over 30 years’ experience, Deb Larmer has taught every type of class in every style of school but is particularly passionate about literacy. As well as being a Seven Steps presenter, Deb is an eLearning Advisor at Swinburne University for ‘Understanding Language and Literacy’.
Deb also co-founded and ran the Doncaster CRT network and she’s a qualified tennis coach. But she can’t think of a better job to have than teaching.
As a Seven Steps presenter
Since meeting creator Jen McVeity in 2014, Deb has been using the Seven Steps in her classrooms with amazing results. She is so proud of her students!
Deb claims there is no single recipe for literacy learning. It comes down to passion. Passion is contagious! The BEST teachers are passionate people: they love what they teach, they love being a teacher, and they love the challenge of helping each of their students learn.
In the community
When a storm hits, you might find Deb on a roof with a chainsaw in the pouring rain, as a volunteer for the SES.
At other times you might find her trekking or running marathons; she’s twice completed the 100km Oxfam Trailwalker Event and in 2015 she completed the Melbourne Marathon.
Deb also founded a cancer support group called ‘Team FIGHT’ (Friends Inspire Great Heights Together).
